I specialize personally in personal injury plaintiff's work. When I started practicing law back in 1997, I was a prosecutor for three and a half years. A part of working with my clients is getting to know them. Every client is unique. Their story is unique. I look at them as a blessing that they picked us, me to help them, and I want to do everything I can to help them make sure that they're protected. At the end of the day, it's really important to me that they're satisfied with what we have done. I decided to become a lawyer primarily because of my father. I watched my father growing up. I was amazed at the stories that he would tell us at the dinner table, the trials that he had, the clients that he represented. I certainly didn't appreciate all that went into it at the time, but I knew that's what I wanted to do. Then finally, when I did get to law school, I sat there and thought, all right, this is really going to happen. Even when I decided to come back to Daytona Beach, I had every intention of coming to work at Chanfrau & Chanfrau, I knew I needed to get my trial experience. I went to the state attorney's office for three and a half years, where I tried over 60 cases, the verdict, to get my trial experience, because I knew one day that I was going to come back here and be a plaintiff's trial lawyer. I wanted to be able to make sure that I was able to help my clients. My favorite thing about being a lawyer is helping people. I truly don't look at this as being a job. I enjoy coming to work every day, and at the end of the day, I really enjoy shaking their hand at the end of their case and seeing a smile on their face that they were helped.
